Máncora is a right-handed beach break on the coast of Piura, South America, Peru. On the right day, the ideal swell window runs from WSW–WNW (240–290°); groundswell with periods around 7–13s gives it the most shape; the wave is comfortably workable up to roughly 8 ft on the face. Best winds are SW or S, with SE or NW still rideable. It is relatively forgiving across the tide and can be ridden through most of the cycle. The sweet spot in our data sits between roughly 0.2 m and 1.5 m of tide height. Consistency is moderate - good days come in pulses tied to incoming swells. Expect warm, boardshort-friendly water. Expect a moderate crowd, especially on the best days. Logistically, it is about 60 minutes from PIU airport. It is a friendly, forgiving wave on small days and a popular spot for surf schools and progressing surfers. Board-wise, locals lean on longboard + shortboard.
